The Hebrew Academy is an Orthodox Day School serving a diverse Jewish Community. Our unique challenge is to provide a superior authentic, traditional Jewish education that meets the differing needs of students along a broad spectrum while providing an outstanding secular education to its students from nursery through high school. Our ambitious educational goal is to provide our students with a thorough knowledge in all relevant and appropriate areas of general knowledge along with extensive exposure to and training in Jewish knowledge and practice. We endeavor to provide a supportive educational environment that demands academic excellence in both Judaic and general studies that will allow our students to fulfill their maximum potential by creating the ideal learning environment in the classroom, based upon the individual academic, religious and social needs of each child and each grade level. On the Middle School and High School levels we have created within the school an expanding "track" system. Each track, with its different emphasis, teaching styles and intensity, successfully provides us with the educational flexibility to serve students from a variety of levels of observance and background. The Academy is committed to an education that transmits not only content knowledge and skills, but is infused with values and character development. The Academy attempts to meet the challenge of instilling the best of Western values through the eyes of Torah. Central to our educational program are a belief in the centrality of the State of Israel (Medinat Yisrael), the love of one Jew for another (Ahavat Yisrael) and the student's responsibility to the Jewish Community (K'lal Yisrael). We are dedicated to making Hebrew an integral vehicle of instruction in all Judaic studies, through its integration wherever possible into the classroom and school environment. Our entire learning environment is suffused with service learning. Students of the Hebrew Academy are taught to synthesize their Torah values and learning with the finest values of our democratic society. We strive to imbue our students with a love for life-long learning and to give them the desire and the tools to be independent learners. We seek to prepare and develop our students for advanced studies beyond High School, and to enable them to continue their education in virtually any field of study they may elect, in the Yeshiva, Seminary, College or University of their choice. |
